Jennifer Campbell has been involved in various aspects of community and economic development for over 20 years and currently serves as Senior Project Advisor for
Market Street Services and is the Project Manager for a
Strategic Economic Development Plan for Northwest Arkansas. During her full-time years with
Market Street, Ms. Campbell led economic development and workforce development projects across the U.S including efforts in Austin, Texas, the States of Georgia, North Carolina and West Virginia, Martinsville, VA, Halifax County, VA, and Jacksonville, FL among others. She served as the Chief Operating Officer for the firm from 1998 to 2005. In 2005, Ms. Campbell followed her entrepreneurial instincts and currently works with several companies in a consulting role.
Prior to
Market Street, Ms. Campbell served in several positions at the regional and state levels including for the Governor’s Development Council of Georgia (GDC), a public-private partnership charged with responsibility for guiding Georgia’s economic development efforts and creating the State’s first
Economic Development Strategy. Ms. Campbell also served as chief of staff for the Governor’s Military Affairs Committee and as liaison to several state agencies.
Ms. Campbell was on the personal staff of former Georgia Governor, Zell Miller. Serving as Special Assistant for Intergovernmental Relations, Ms. Campbell acted as primary staff for state and local relations. She also served as the Governor’s liaison with the Georgia Congressional Delegation and with federal agencies on legislative and administrative developments affecting state government and assumed complete responsibility for areas of transportation, military affairs and the environment. Ms. Campbell provided staff support for the Governor’s participation in national and regional associations.
Prior to joining the Governor’s staff, Ms. Campbell served in various roles with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs including that agency’s Office of Rural Development. At a regional level, Ms. Campbell served as Public Affairs Director for the Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center. In that role, she provided local governments in the eight-county coastal Georgia region, and appropriate state and federal agencies, vital information on activities and services of the Regional Development Center. Ms. Campbell also produced a nationally recognized monthly newsletter and developed special publications on a variety of topics including the Georgia Planning Act, economic development and job training partnership.
Ms Campbell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia and is active in numerous state, regional, and national economic development organizations. She is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute.
